Advice Day isn’t one of those tiresome made-up days (e.g. Talk Like a Pirate Day) but a very real annual phenomenon.
In our experience people tend to put off seeing financial advisers in December. The nights draw in, you’re busy organising Christmas and seeing a financial adviser isn’t the highest thing on your to-do list. But in January people wake up realising that they’ve overindulged on both the mince pies and their spending. Consequently, they make New Year’s resolutions to get themselves, and their finances, in shape. So, just as the gyms are full in January, according to Unbiased, the UK's No 1 adviser search, on the first working Monday of the New Year, determined to sort out their finances, more people search for a financial adviser than on any other day. Unbiased have designated this day as ‘Advice Day’ and the whole of this busy week as ‘Advice Week’.
