Are you a grandparent? Care for a child under 12? Not yet reached state pension age?
A new report from the insurer Royal London suggests tens of thousands of grandparents are potentially missing out on a boost to their state pension income.
The so-called grandparents' credit can increase state pension income by £231 a year for each year of caring for a child under 12.
In the year to the end of September 2016, only 1,300 people claimed the credit.
The good news for grandparents who have missed out is the ability to backdate claims to 2011.
To qualify for the so-called grandparents' credit, such relatives need to be of working age, while caring for the child in question.
